Ethics and legal stuff

It is very important to me that I work in line with the ethical and legal requirements expected of me as a practitioner. This includes abiding by data protection legislation and safeguarding frameworks to ensure we are working together in a way that is safe, as well as therapeutic. I hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance and my work is governed under UK jurisdiction and Scottish law.

As a registered member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), I abide by their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. If you have any concerns about my practice, and feel able to do so, please do let me know in the first instance. UKCP’s complaints procedures also include information about how to register concern about any UKCP therapist.

Confidentiality is a crucial part of any therapeutic work, and it is important to understand that all aspects of our work will be conducted confidentially. We will talk much more about all this when we get started!
