Resources

Choosing to attend counselling is a significant commitment and it’s important that you feel ready to take the step. In addition to individual therapeutic support, there are various other resources we can tap into in order to look after ourselves and the people we care about. Below are just a few sources of help and information that could be useful.

If you are feeling like you are unable to keep yourself safe, or are worried about someone else’s safety, you can contact the Samaritans online or by calling their freephone number 116 123. They are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Papyrus is a charity that works to prevent suicide in young people. Their HOPELINE is available to anyone seeking support or advice to keep themselves safe, and can offer advice to concerned others too.

Moodjuice is an online resource developed by the NHS to support individuals to understand and manage numerous wellbeing and mental health challenges. It includes a number of extensive self-help guides based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. These are free to explore and download.

The website GetSelfHelp is another place where you can find lots of resources to help identify, understand and manage a wide range of difficulties.
